Charles' musical career spans several bands and projects. He began with Team Makers Union and co-founded Woodhead Green at age 14. In the late '70s, he performed solo and opened for notable acts.
In 1982, Charles moved to Dallas, inspired by friends Jim and Colleen Miller. He formed bands like True Colors and Twist of Fate in the following years, with Twist of Fate securing a contract with Dragon Street Records.
Charles also worked on jingles and contributed to Chuck E. Cheese's music. He had a publishing deal with Sony Publishing and collaborated with Kenny Cordray in various projects.
In 2021, Charles and Ross Jackson revived Woodhead Green with new members, including Yorinde Lokin. His journey showcases his diverse musical experiences and collaborations.
